Revolutionary new ways to straighten teeth more quickly
Straightening teeth in months, not years
We offer a choice of four systems to straighten either one or two teeth (Clear Aligners), the four front top or bottom teeth (Inman™ ‘Speed Brace’) or whole arches (Invisalign® ‘Invisible Braces’ and ClearSmile ‘Fixed Ceramic Braces’). Each system uses innovative design to apply precise, gentle pressure to move teeth in months – sometimes, even weeks – instead of years.
Treatment times: how do they compare?
Inman™ and Clear Aligners can typically straighten teeth in as little as eight weeks. With both Invisalign® and fixed braces, it can take a little longer, starting at 26-28 weeks. Single arch treatment using Invisalign® can take approximately 18 weeks on average. However, every case is different – with some patients, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in just two weeks.
You’re in safe hands
We’ve seen hundreds of patients through straightening treatments and like to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques, innovations and training. We are a Top 20 provider of Inman™ in the UK and a leading provider of Invisalign® in the region.
Alternatives to traditional ‘train tracks’
If you thought your only option was traditional metal ‘train-track’ brace, then think again. Not only are the four straightening systems typically less visible than traditional ‘train tracks,’ but they also use new technology to apply gentler forces, thereby reducing treatment times and the risk of root resorption.
Invisalign Platinum Provider
As one of Devon’s leading Invisalign providers, The Whyte House has achieved recognition by being awarded the Invisalign Platinum provider status recognising the expertise of Dr Grant in this advanced orthodontic system.
We are a dedicated provider of the no braces Invisalign system, using the latest advances in dental technology to deliver this treatment, giving you the straight teeth and perfect smile you’ve always wanted.
Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign depicts your complete treatment plan, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth – and your teeth only – to move them little by little. Each aligner is worn for 1-2 weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
Dentists or orthodontists have, in the past, successfully used removable appliances for years. But with the application of Align Technology’s 3D computer technology and mass-customisation, the Invisalign System can be used to treat a wide range of patients who want straighter teeth. The unique ClinCheck® software allows patients to see their treatment plan from beginning to end even before the start of treatment.

iTero Invisalign Scanner
At The Whyte House, we want to get the best orthodontic results for each of our patients and because every smile is unique we need to take an accurate impression of your teeth and jaw to plan the very best treatment. We can achieve this using the iTero digital scanner.
Say goodbye to uncomfortable impressions
Here at The Whyte House, we are proud to use the latest orthodontic technology for the benefit of our patients. That’s why we’re the only dental practice in Exeter to have an iTero digital scanner. This state-of-the-art technology enables our us to take an accurate 3D impression of your teeth.
Forget having to bite into messy trays and sticky clay-like material, the iTero digital scanner means we get a computerised impression of your teeth and jaws in moments, allowing us to put together a more informed treatment plan for you and start your journey towards the perfect smile.
The Inman™ – a solution to front crowding, gapping or protrusion
The Inman™ ‘Speed Brace’ is a quick and simple way of straightening your front 4 top or bottom teeth. It’s been dubbed “the greatest innovation in cosmetic dentistry since the porcelain veneer”. Its revolutionary concept can see protruding or crowded teeth transformed, sometimes in a matter of weeks.
With the patented Inman Aligner™, your front teeth can be gently and safely guided to an ideal position in a matter of weeks. Many of our patients say they can’t believe how quickly it works. Most cases complete in 6-16 weeks and, because it’s removable, you can take your aligner out to fit in with your lifestyle.
If you have mild to moderate crowding, protrusion or gapping of your front teeth you may well be a suitable candidate for Inman™. However, only a certified Inman Aligner™ Dentist will be able to confirm suitability of your individual case. Give us a call on 01392 877494 to book your Straightening Consultation with Dr Grant to see which treatment option would be best for you.

Clear Aligners, which look like transparent gum shields, are designed to straighten your front 6 to 8 teeth – with no discomfort or rubbing from metal or bars. Using exact impressions taken by a dentist, Clear Aligners will straighten teeth that are tilted backwards or forwards, or teeth that are crowded or rotated. And because Clear Aligners are transparent no one will know you’re wearing them – unless you tell them!
Clear Aligners are custom made to fit snugly over your top or bottom teeth, applying constant, but gentle and precise, pressure to ease teeth back into position.
Before treatment starts you will be able to view a simulation of the end result; if you’re happy with what you see, your aligners will be made using the latest 3D printing technology.
During treatment you must wear your Clear Aligners throughout the day; they should only be removed for eating and cleaning or for special occasions.

Fixed Ceramic Braces
ClearSmile ‘Fixed Ceramic Braces’ straighten upper and/or lower arches using similar technology to traditional metal ‘train track’ braces but are less visible because the wires are coated with a tooth-coloured material and the brackets are clear rather than metal. They are permanently fixed, so don’t need to be removed at night or when cleaning your teeth or eating.
Although they’re not quite as ‘invisible’ as Invisalign® ‘Invisible Braces’, they are far less visible than metal ‘train tracks’, as the wires are white rather than silver and the brackets are transparent rather than metal.
